"Dark electronic band CØLDSTAR, recently released their single 'I See a Light', a mesmerizing obscure tune with gothic undertones that embraces the already established immersive modern synthpop style of the project.
With this release, the Swiss duo continues their musical path with their usual captivating dark atmosphere and electro-minimalistic elements but with an added sense of pressure thanks to a more uptempo beat embellished with an array of classic synth arrangements.
The song's core is built with some classic old-school analog drum sounds that mesh consistently with the dark hypnotic synth melodies.
The vocals are maintained and polished with their peculiar, interesting texture and gothic character, sometimes reminding of some early Clan of Xymox productions; however, CØLDSTAR manages to find and sustain their own musical ground and fresh synth craft.
The track's extended more instrumental outro is another highlight that the band implemented perfectly, playing with an ambiguous melodic setting that converges a melodic hope in light and the dark tones of a beautifully tweaked eerie synth pad.
