Mexican-American artist Emi just released her single 'No One Said It'd Be Easy', venturing into a synth punk and cyber punk style with edgy grooves; Emi offers a new alternative to a dark yet uplifting sonic ride.
The track is solid, especially with a hypnotic and syncopating raw and tense drum beat, with a tense guitar melody that carries the soul of the song.
The arrangement is embellished with catchy synth arpeggiators that fit perfectly with the mood and atmosphere of the track, reminiscent of an ode to anarchy melodically, but lyrically more a reflection on life itself.
Emi Brito Anguiano really shines as a modern composer with this tune, and it showcases her craft and love for alternative electronic music, a perfect taster from her recently released E.P.
The vocals are edgy, very well crafted and produced, injecting a sense of rebellious nature with a tense, almost pressured sense of protest.

For this track feature we wanted to showcase something a little different and more versatile but still in the same musical spirit and influence as our usual more alternative reviewed styles like new-wave and indie-pop, and we found that the song 'The City' from Alwyn Morrison was a perfect choice.

'The City' is a cool blend of soft and indie rock elements, and what is really captivating is the essence of the uplifting spirit that permeates the whole track.

The music production is top-notch, and it is, frankly, one of those songs that is very appealing for radio; the engaging rhythm and the guitar work, especially the melodic solo toward the end, elevate the track to a very immersive, heartfelt sonic sensation.

Another aspect that probably is what gives the final embracing character to the song is the vocal production, this includes the vocal performance, the texture, the efx, the arrangement, and the sincere lyrics that evoke an emotional and nostalgic atmosphere, hard to forget and stays with the listener for a while in a refreshing way.

2025 looks promising for new electronic music, especially for the synthwave scene, and we wanted to start it with an amazing artist/producer; DEPALMA is the modern synthwave brainchild of producer/singer Magdiel Montano, and although this track 'BAD' is some years old, it's worth to give it a proper highlight.

For us, this one is special, since it's one of the tracks that caught a lot of our attention in 2024; It is also worth mentioning, that this is not the first time that DE PALMA is in our ears and main playlist, we also consider another of his tracks a superb highlight: 'BLOOD' when we discovered it back in 2019 (and had it on repeat for a while; attached is the video below too).
DE PALMA is a mysterious project (since it has a lot of potential and delivers with very high quality), in the sense that, we question why the project hasn't released a full EP or ALBUM yet, but we'll keep waiting, no doubt it will be worth it.

And specifically, talking about 'BAD', the track has a mix of modern and classic synthwave sound, and Magdiel is very skilled at composing very catchy songs, with extremely compelling choruses.
The synth melodies are always on point and give the track an immersion that only gets even more elevated with the vocal layer.

Magdiel KNOWS how to sing synthwave.
His vocal texture, charming character, and dynamics fit perfectly with this beloved style of electronic music.

Please follow DE PALMA on his social channels and music profiles, promise it's really worth keeping an eye on his next releases!

We recently came across one of the holy grails of Spanish Synthpop, the long-lived legendary electronic band Estatuas de Sol, a bit of our background with this band was finding them around 2003 in popular synthpop forums and the famous (now long-lost) electronic music site Electrogarden; it is great to witness their evolution from those years to now, with their most recent production "Lucha (Por un Mundo Mejor)".

The track is an update, very appealing, and definitely top-notch quality, the nuances in the synth melodies remind of classic 80s and even 90s synthpop at its best, the band surely has acquired modern skills to update their sound and attract new synthpop lovers all around the world.

The lyrics are also non-pretentious and to the point and fit elegantly with the mood of the tune, at the end, the atmosphere is exquisitely dark but ultimately uplifting, which is the point of the message and soul of the production, finally, the vocals are catchy and balanced, with the occasional EFX at the right times, and a peculiar Spanish accent that is fresh, charming and mixes great with their style, making this track a must listen!

Overall, the song is really impressive in its musical details, from the elegant production to the melodic background vocals and polished lead vocals, everything seems to work perfectly; please don't forget to follow Estatus de Sol on their social channels and add their tracks to your electronic playlists!

Now this finding is a very peculiar one, what happens when you blend modern synthpop, synthwave, darkwave, and a deep gothic-infused vocal style? CØLDSTAR; an electronic music duo from Switzerland that excels in this fusion of various electronic styles and imprints an elegant edge in their most recent release: the captivating and evocative 'Sleepless'.

First impression is that this is a vanguardist project that firmly seeks to establish a fresh alternative in
the extremely competitive modern electronic music scene.
The duo skillfully shines with this song, taking some risks in the nuanced mix of dark styles, and ultimately 'Sleepless' achieves a thrilling atmosphere that awakes the listener's curiosity for more of it.

The core of the track sometimes takes a minimalistic approach usually found on more synthwave tracks, but they manage to stir the wheel more towards synthpop with more classic synth patches and enigmatic melodies, navigating between the styles modestly.
We loved the balance between the drums sounds, classic bass sound, and the eerie pads in the chorus, even at times creating the impression that the vocalist is elegantly pleading inside a dark cathedral.

What finally gives the duo's music a unique character is the obscure and deep tone of the vocals, which in moments are reminiscent of legendary cult bands like Clan of Xymox, And One, and even an earlier Peter Murphy, but recognizing that the band outputs their own original dark and mysterious style.

With this release, the Swiss duo continues their musical path with their usual captivating dark atmosphere and electro-minimalistic elements but with an added sense of pressure thanks to a more uptempo beat embellished with an array of classic synth arrangements.
The song's core is built with some classic old-school analog drum sounds that mesh consistently with the dark hypnotic synth melodies.

The vocals are maintained and polished with their peculiar, interesting texture and gothic character, sometimes reminding of some early Clan of Xymox productions; however, CØLDSTAR manages to find and sustain their own musical ground and fresh synth craft.

The track's extended more instrumental outro is another highlight that the band implemented perfectly, playing with an ambiguous melodic setting that converges a melodic hope in light and the dark tones of a beautifully tweaked eerie synth pad.

The style of the song is a peculiar one in terms of the versatile musical elements blended in that result in a deep interesting rough artistic atmosphere and subversiveness in its own way.

Andrea and co achieve a new kind of creative electro-punk that emphasizes vocal performance that sometimes reminds of the edgy and flamboyant vocal executions from the legendary Diamanda Galas, and also offering a more contemporary rough sound that fits perfectly with his solid, defiant vocal texture and performance.

Another perspective is that of a theatrical futuristic approach in Andrea's musical production, challenging the usual genre stereotypes, embracing a diverse atmosphere of musical experimental elements, giving a new meaning to the term ECLECTIC, the fresh spontaneous tones riding a minimalistic drum track finalizing on an intense anthemic vocal outro, that is complex while also managing to be doomy when Andrea's vocals mutate to exude a unique sense of desperation and apocalyptic indulgence.

The angelical synth vocal melodies hooked us from the start, the music production does an effective work transmitting the ethereal atmosphere with nostalgic tones and romantic landscapes.

The vocals are also a captivating highlight using a reverberation effect that perfectly suits the vocal texture and execution, giving the song its distinctive heavenly character.

This version shines with lustrous synth pads and a solid drumbeat that embraces a modern trip-hop (sometimes hip-hopish) approach that suits firmly this music production.

The remix also achieves a fresh fusion between a dream-pop landscape and an urban downtempo ballad, which CyFi knew how to polish skillfully, taking into account that the vocal style is complex to mix in this blend of genres, to finally consolidate around the core melancholic message of the lyrics.

And talking about the vocals: the execution glows! providing an ambitious tonality, juicy rhythm, euphoric and kind of hypnotic pacing, with a decisive and creative envelope of stylish vocal EFX.

No doubt that CyFi experiments with the right tools to present this engaging remix filled with tuneful melodies and a fervent vocal execution.
It's also worth noting that the final music production/mixing/mastering achieves a modern crisp sound that feels competitive and vanguard.

The duo exposes their seasoned music skills across the whole track, implementing carefully placed synth melodies and patches with a clear intention of provoking the listener to an obscure journey and reflection.

It's clear that the duo knows and achieves an engaging balance of elements from various electronic styles like trip-hop, dark-synth, and cinematic synthpop, the song also reaches points that remind of dark 80's vibes with a more fresh modern electronica sound.

The rhythm and beat sound enhance a lot this type of tunes since these blends tend to be sometimes less organic oriented and that usually becomes not an easy task to mix but the duo achieves this flawlessly, especially with the surrounding pads and the variance in melodic sections.

There are several other highlights in this track, but the vocals do stand out, with a clear craft, polish, and versatile execution; without a doubt, Jordana is a great singer whose expertise shines in showing how dark can become sexy and catchy.

The music production on this track is in line with what we can expect by Me & Melancholy, a sound characterized by a mixture of analog drums, gloomy and orbital synth melodies, with nuanced gothic vocals that imprint an underlying tension that feels genuine and raw.

The song (included in their EP "Thrillogy") also has a neat music production with synth nostalgic melodies that indulges in a romantic atmosphere difficult not to embrace.
The overall music production is neat and smooth, paying attention to powerful drum fill-ins at the right moments, and enhancing the already fine-tuned more classic old-school retro synth and bass layers (the synth intro is particularly thrilling and seductive).

We also have to highlight the vocal performance, its texture, and the selection of musical notes in it, the chorus particularly shines with a heartfelt performance and impressive long notes that immerses the listener in the atmosphere and deep journey the song offers successfully.

Purzynth Rekords does it again finding and adding another very talented artist to their roster, there is no doubt that Violet Fears is a strong, skilled emerging synthwave artist that deserves more than a few listens so we invite all synthwave lovers to follow & add them to their music library.

'Burning Man' is a perfect example of the passion this band has in their craft and how they've skillfully embodied producing modern synthwave tunes.

It's also not hard to notice a slight influence from other top synthwave artists like LeBrock (FiXT), in the way that Blind Cobra successfully blends a rockier vocal style and impressive high-pitched notes full of energy and determination.

The music production follows a classic but modern approach to synthwave music that feels really fresh, compelling, and catchy and also leaves you with a powerful punkesque attitude, especially with how the guitar work and melodies blend perfectly with the mood and message the song represents.

German music producer Klangwelt just released his album 'Here and Why' which includes "Muse" and the one we are reviewing in this feature, in its most essence the track is like a homage to a modern version of new age world music with electronic layers that ensemble as a cinematic soundtrack, which should be no surprise when you learn about the artist's long career and experience since at least 2002, he also dedicates his music skills to the videogame industry and it really shows beautifully in this record.

Just to make it clear that we don't usually review instrumental music, but we have our exceptions when the art deserves it, and one definite aspect of this track is the amazing blend of perceived influences, like you can sometimes perceive some simple minds/u2 and similar new wave melodies but we can't assume the artist did that on purpose, he just mentions the influence of European electronic music in general, and Tangerine Dream is probably more accurate regarding this,
also worth noting is the guitar work that is sometimes reminiscent of U2's The Edge style but also imprints its own character;
it seems like Klangwelt knows precisely how to balance these elements of influence to convey a new presentation and a more unique one too.

One of the key elements is the atmosphere, in this kind of long instrumental track, it's crucial to keep the listener interested and that is by means of implementing exciting dynamics, in the arrangement and in the instrument layers themselves and Klangwelt does this masterfully in this tune.
The vocals in this one are as ethereal as they can get and immersive as the most gorgeous landscape you can frame, well, the whole track is just like that to be clearer.

Listening to the other tracks in the album it's very clear that he is a very skilled music producer and his stronger creativity lies in soundtrack-oriented music, even though that may seem pretty obvious we needed to highlight this fact, and invite the reader to give a more profound listening session to the whole album and some of his other works, and to be clear this album is not only new age, has a lot of electronic styles mixed here and there, probably something like neo electronic new age fits its style description or simply electronic crossover music as the artists self describes it.

Listen to Klangwelt especially if you love instrumental music that talks to you in dreamy soundscapes you can escape to.

Following our luck of finding more cinematic-influenced music productions, we are thrilled to present from English origin and Sweden-raised dark-pop electronic artist Skar de Line.
From the experimental elements that the core of the track is built upon to the dark elegant decisive vocals, this song has immense potential for soundtrack material.

The track relies on creative unconventional instrumentation and structure from its beginning and achieves a powerful immersive atmosphere that is nothing short of enigmatic.

What is emblematic is the constant rise of tension and intrigue and the perception of a minimalistic march of synths and sounds that evolve to deliver a final majestic chorus, that gives the ultimate character to the whole track, in other words: EPIC!

The overall mixing is done meticulously and is very fine-tuned, along with the production that fine crafts perfectly breathing samples and blends more orchestral instruments that give the track that personality we mentioned earlier, even communicating poetic desperation that one is not even sure when it's going to explode.

Finally, the song also presents a modern industrial nature, especially with the ominous synth bass that works perfectly with the dark-in-your-face vocal performance, and this final element is its strongest point, its texture and pacing just nail the track with a whole new level of vanguard distinction.

Recently we've been finding very peculiar, engaging, and awesome electro alternative music, and more specifically with a touch of cinematic presentation that is not that easy to find, that is the case this time for Temperature Falls, a Norwegian electro alternative duo and their latest release 'Lab Rat'.
This track immediately hooked us from the beginning with its strange atmosphere and particularly the delicate edgy and smooth elegance of the music production.

Talking more in detail, starting from the drums/beats trip-hop oriented production, it possesses a smooth and creative balance between grittiness and clarity, making the drums drive the track with hypnotic dynamics and warmth that push them powerfully.
Another essential aspect is the experimental nature of the synths/sounds that act more as sonic landscapes to the whole cinematic anthem giving it a sometimes more daring and dark facade but preserving its more nuanced and artsy pop structure,
and lastly, the vocals are elegantly performed and polished,
giving the whole song that cinematic enhancement we mentioned earlier; we're talking in terms of this song being sufficiently versatile that could have been featured as a soundtrack of films like David Fincher's Seven, a dark summer teen drama or even a Vampyr videogame.

We highlight the chorus of the track since it achieves an enigmatic even eerie ambiance that is hypnotically catchy!
Don't forget to follow Temperature Falls on their social media, and add the song to your cinematic playlists, you'll love this one, especially on introspective days, but honestly, this track can fit anywhere!

Last year the label released FUTURE NOW 2.0 with several powerful tracks provided by amazingly creative artists.
For now, we wanted to highlight and feature 'Oblivion' from the band Alisster; just immediately from the intro you get hit by a powerful drumbeat and a modern high-quality synthwave production, along with a fine catchy synth melody.

The song is polished with all the nuances we love about synthwave, big reverbs, classic futuristic synthleads, and a deep cyberpunk-esque bassline.
The vocals are treated excellent, polished with the right amount of effects and the performance itself is perfect for the style, this surely feels like what we call 'Modern Synthwave'.
And to finish the track in an outstanding way, Alisster incorporates an electric guitar solo that upgrades the song to a whole new badass level.
Overalll the mood and atmosphere of the song are captivating and gorgeous with a dark synth touch.
The song is an instant classic that often reminds you of your favorite 80's cinematic experiences, especially those that held romantic, fun, and high school adventures.

The chorus is really catchy and the vocal production has a special tweaking that blends the perfectly with the fine-tuned beat and synth layers. And of course, the vocals themselves are perfectly balanced and their elegant tones enhance the song beautifully.

Again, this could easily pass as an 80's soundtrack perfectly or even as a more modern one with similar themes with a more contemporary twist; (for example, it could probably fit well in some high school scenes of Kobra Kai, or something around that fresh but vintage humor, i.e: Stranger Things).

One last thing to highlight is that the production value on this is of amazing quality, the mixing, mastering, the balance of all elements, the synths used, and the drumbeats.
Please follow Dreampark to catch in time their next releases and especially if you love modern old-school synthpop with a fresh presentation!

"The Tempest" can be a genuine example of a very dynamic arrangement that possesses a warm and sweet atmosphere but at the same time a powerful energetic and dense attitude.
This truly in part because of an exciting amalgamation and fusion of very heavy dubstep with electro ballad and some classic r&b elements.

The track also has in some parts epic melodies and sounds that are sure to explode in a great way on a nightclub setup.

The vocals are elegant and gorgeous and go very well with the sometimes chaotic nature of the sound layers (oh and we say chaotic in the best way possible just clarifying that :)

"The Tempest" is an exciting sonic ride and nothing less, the music production overall is neat and top-notch, the mixing is also on par with more modern productions of the same vein.

Overall the track has an uplifting atmosphere, effective and catchy synth patches, and melodies, and we have to highlight the very enjoyable vocal style and performance, also they get enhanced with creative dynamic delay effects that accentuate the vocals in all the cool places.

Lindeskov highlights Bernard Sumner from New Order as one of his main inspirations, and we can corroborate that he knows how to equalize that with his own originality as a definitive advantage.

From Mexico City, electronic artist Zeon delivers his most recent release, the powerful song 'Damage Control', and in our second review of his music, by the way, we are delighted to find that once again he excels at his craft, please keep reading you won't be disappointed.

From the early solid pounding of the beat, you can find that this song will unleash a lot of energetic vibes and an uplifting aggressive tone.
Indeed the opening instantly hooks you and it gets even better when all the instrumentation gets going, which is heavily aggro-tech in its nature, which Zeon is well known to produce.

As he explains the meaning of the lyrics, this track is all about struggle and how to engage with it in a positive light, we know the world is a bit of a mess sometimes especially in the social environment and how we view our place in it, and this is a homage to the whole ordeal with a defiant attitude to our life's journey and how to manage it with damage control instead of losing ourselves to oblivion.
This is a great message.

Going now to the more technical side of it (which is our specialty :)
Zeon nails it again with the solid beats and electro rock-oriented aspects, probably more industrial with aggro-tech elements as mentioned earlier.
His vocals are perfectly suited for this kind of style which he obviously has a lot of talent and has polished carefully. Also, he combines electro-pop elements as well and that gives the track a lot more range to appeal to all sonic audiences.

But enough with our words, please go and give a listen AND a follow to Zeon on Spotify, and don't forget to tune his music through our official Spotify playlist Synthpop Your Universe! and help us reach 2000 followers!

Sometimes reminding us to elements or airs of Pet Shop Boys, Thompson Twins, and even sometimes some nuances from The Smiths too, at the end with so many high-quality influences, Different DNA achieves a modern and fresh style of their own.

The song in itself is very dynamic and solid from its core, combining nonpretentious drums, enigmatic synth pads, and charming guitar parts. The piano parts are very catchy and as we told before, they at some points remind of the most classic old school '80s new wave.

The music production and especially the mixing are super top-notch quality, offering a nice blend of indie rock pop organic textures and more synthwave oriented sonic parts.

Finally, the vocals are perfectly tuned for this one and feel as dynamic and catchy as the whole music foundation.

It's not very common to find greek indie-electro, especially this high quality and very well crafted, and this is a blatant surprise!
The beat has a very indie classic feel to it yet with a very modern sonic flavor, it's a solid drumbeat that is firmly confident to hold the whole song with the delightful hooks it has.

The vocals are between sexy & elegant with an air of lightness that somewhat communicates the listener an atmosphere of non-pretentious attitude and they get very catchy towards the chorus, also the texture and style combine perfectly with the more indie electro oriented style of the track.

Worth mentioning is the computerized synth patch and melodies that appear in the middle of the track are top-notch!
The alternative guitars are also a perfect addition, in the end, this is an artist that is skilled with varied song parts and arrangements.

Like many other artists in this genre/style, Late Drifter achieves a wonderful level of quality in terms of the musical arrangement, synth work, and melodies, adding to that a beautiful sax layer that is sometimes reminiscent of classic new wave/synthpop productions or more modern-day examples like The Midnight.

This particular track also features a low-level grittiness that is noticeable in subtle amounts and gives the music a richness and warm atmosphere, like if it was being played through a cassette.

In the end, the music is nonpretentious, it's simple and to the point, with a subtle complexity delivering a cool atmosphere that indeed can take you to a simulated 'harbor ride'.

From the United States comes Basic Elements, an alternative new wave focused band that has a very interesting history, they are releasing an originally written song from the '80s when they first started as a band as very young boys; and they recently reunited again last year (2019) after being disbanded since 1990.
Let us tell you, this band does maintain a very old school post-punk essence that makes you travel to those early 80's years of glamour and glam rock like The Psychedelic Furs, The Smiths, and also an early Simple Minds to name a few from that era.
This track has many highlights starting with the super quality and modernized production, the varied synth layers and melodies (that get a little crazy and creative at points), the drums sound powerful and exciting; also worth noting is a rough musical precision in the execution of the overall performance that stamps the tune with a classic punkesque alternative sound.
The vocals are simply amazing and they just possess that punk vibe and catchy animosity that one could expect from this music style,
the tonality has also a rebellious attitude that with all the refining and updating they've done imprints a pleasant elegancy that can be perceived as an accomplished maturity.
The lyrics are also on point especially if you are of the ones that like art addressing or symbolizing ageless political themes.

The piano work is beautifully written at the intro, the beat is strong in general & the groove is excellent at giving an eclectic kind of exuberant groove mixed with a smooth line of male vocals (by Michael Kentish) and even funky harmonies with a background set of female vocals (by Katie Burke).
This version has a dark but inviting animosity that fits perfectly on an alternative night club or a long night drive, your choice... and we must say that the synth alarm-like sound gives the track a thrilling mood that doubles when the electric guitar melodies kick in.

In this review, we chose "Games" the radio edit version since we felt this superb track embodies mostly what this act is all about.
With very captivating melodies, tones, and a special atmosphere that mixes various emotive states of mind, "Games" offers a very modern electropop that should catch a lot of attention from the lovers of this genre.
The band uses very creative and melodic use of vocoder efx on the vocals that give the track a more contemporary sonic presentation and a sophistication they have found and crafted on their own, that is very unique, especially after listening to some of their other material and in particular this remix album.
We can resume that The Safety Word is a very elegant electropop band that incorporates elements from other styles like synthwave, indie electronic, synthpop, and new wave, (just listen to Dreamz another superb track of their body of work), and the end product is elevated even more when the vocals kick in.
One final note is precisely that, the vocals are gorgeous and atmospheric in a very pleasant way and blend perfectly with the atmospheric melodies, synth pads and all the electronic layers they craft.

BANDMASTER, an Indie Electropop band from Latvia, just released their amazing track 'I Might Get High Tonight', this is what we usually call a dense top quality music production, this song feels big in a great way.
From the instantly catchy and unusual introduction to the chorus buildup this song it's guaranteed to catch your attention and immerse you in its captivating seduction and a wild nightly sensation, as its lyrics invite!
In general, we highlight the beautiful density in the arrangements and production of the synth layers with the elegant performed vocals that have a peculiarly delicate, and irresistible chemistry also, that saturated/gritty vocal effect is perfection in contrast with Zelma's vocal texture and her polished style.
The track, in the end, is one of those you can adopt as a wild night hymn before venturing into endless club trips, yes we believe the tune is that powerful and catchy enough to put on repeat several days.
We recommend a lot following closely BANDMASTER and their next releases that without a doubt will bring more of this captivating sound!

Industrial music producer/composer David Marvelly AKA Corvax just released 'Talk to the Man' a powerful track that embodies the best of early/late '90s most representative industrial productions. The track's edgy nature, aggressive tones, and tight drumbeat share a sense of thrill and dark mood. This particular short and to the point production is reminiscent of early/mid nine inch nails works, the vocal style is also on point with Reznor's calm sections and reaching a great classic climax with loud energetic gritty vocals at specific points in the song. This track is a labor of love to the dark and empowering essence of industrial music.
Also worth mentioning are the heavy guitar work, the crazy & chaotic creative bridges, and the overall potent music production & its dark expression.
Corvax is a great exponent of modern industrial/gothic darkwave carrying on the legacy of pioneers of the genre/style and giving it his own personal taste and improvements!

The theme is insightful and it's a moderate sensual journey blending perfectly with the sense of pressure in the beat,
The music production achieves a delicious dark tonality with the more synthpunk oriented elements, and in general, the song portrays a beautiful dreamlike landscape with its amazing synth pad layers and melodies.
The vocals have a very attractive personality and sit perfectly in the mix in terms of clarity, animosity and a well balanced dark mood, in the end, this is a gorgeous dark song.

Swedish indie electropop band Social Ambitions got our attention with their recent release; a beautiful melancholic anthem with a well-tought balance of hybrid elements between indie pop/electropop/synthwave and new wave, the song 'Do You Remember the First Time?'.
Without a doubt, this tune possesses a classic vibe often found in soundtracks of 80's cinema, you just can locate it as the main song of movies like Sixteen Candles or Can't Buy My Love.
The music production is pleasantly clean, keeping it more on the conservative side using old school drumbeats and very melodic synth patches and bassline, all of this summed up in a more modernized electronic end result.
The catchy vocals and very melodic texture of the singer complement this addictive pop piece that is sure to hook anyone, and most especially enthusiasts of that 80's synth atmosphere and all that old school themed flavor.
We encourage to give a listen to their full album 'A New Frontier' which is full of excellent pieces and doesn't ask anything from similars on this type of style (like MGTM for example), Social Ambitions offer their own rendition to indie music and they sure do it with great success!

In depth detail the tune has a synthwave oriented music production that is definitely top notch quality, David Hayden acts as the production part of the project and excels in crafting cohesive synth layers with a classic 80's influence and a more modernized audio technique.
John Caulfield, who is the other 50% of the band is responsible for the vocals, that like the music production has also an excellent level of craft, performance, tone, and texture; but what is very noteworthy is the overall heartfelt emotion in the final product.

We have to highlight the emotion achieved in this powerful electronic ballad, the retrowave approach is just right on the spot, the romantic mood is heavily lifted once the vocals start but are taken further in the powerful heartfelt nostalgic chorus.

The dreampop influenced synth pads and general emotional atmosphere can remind of classic cinematic 80's electronic soundtracks and can rival even synthpop classics like 'Drive' by The Cars. Make no mistake, this might be their debut album but they have plenty of experience around the electronic synthwave scene.

New Arcades is definitely a band deserving a status like other similar high-quality bands like The Midnight or Gunship to name a few (by reading their bio one can learn they were already making vocal synthwave before those more contemporary bands, just noting :)

Please add New Arcades to your synthwave library they are really worth the time!

The music production is amazing, opting for a modernized dreampop vibe and the song in general relies heavily in modern ebm techniques which gives gives it an elegant atmospheric immersion. It reminds sometimes to exceptional artists like Mind.In.A.Box, that are super effective in blending even new age music nuances and ambiences. The vocals are probably the strongest highlight of the track, they come with a gorgeous, elegant texture and the calming smooth nature are an immediate hook up that get embellished with a small dose of beautiful female vocals.

The lyrics are unpretentious and light and with the combination of both the female & male vocals give the track that classic versatilty usualy found in this kind of electro pop productions, both singers complement each other with their respective styles and textures, ultimately delivering a soothing and sweet vocal performance that is very pleasant and catchy.

The track also features some tendencies to more contemporary synthwave elements, but ultimately the overall sound retains that very attractive "Indie Electronic" approach and is extremely effective at succeeding getting that pleasantly dreamy / trippy relaxing atmosphere (The chorus is specially very addictive and contagious). The guitar work is a nicely added layer that complements the track with a unique characteristic tone.

'Sunkissed' is a beautiful synthwave instrumental track released recently by U.S. act Glome. This incredibly emotional musical piece is filled with a tremendous amount of emotive synth pads and melodies, the musical production is superb and can really engage you in a immersive dreamlike landscape of serenity and tranquility. The slow tempo, and classicly tweaked drum sounds, give the perfect pace for an atmospheric and somewhat romantic track like this. Glome is really skilled in producing electronic music specially modern synthwave, the sound in general can be felt smooth and crisp. The chords communicate perfectly an expansive sense of contemplation, it sometimes remind a little like if BT decided to produce synthwave to some extent. This track is perfect for a summer meditation at the beach, it definitely does honors to its name. Glome is definitely soundtrack oriented material for our taste, very expressive, emotive and magical synthwave at its finest. Please go support Glome and add all or at least some of their delightful synthwave productions to your library, you won't regret it.

This track feels like it was specially designed for long nights at the dancing floor that also converge with a chill out mood that blends perfectly within the different and varied sections of the arrangement.
The track is instantly captivating from the very beggining wich appears to take a synthwave direction to later transform into a more classic edm track with a very finely constructed drop to kick it off.
One of the higlights can be found at the mid section where a synth lead does a simple & short but very melodic solo. The whole track in general sounds vanguardist and with a very neat/clean production. Chad's approach to EDM in a more modern fashion is very appealing & should be a great asset in your electronic music collection.

The musical production is yet again of very impressive quality and in some ways slightly unusual; the retro synths combined with other complicated patches, the swirling retro yet modern melodies, and the varied and definitely powerful drum production, all sum up to deliver a pleasant and haunting and very addictive mood. There are some nuances and very clever efx that gives this *can we say almost ballad electro pop* song, a unique and primarily relaxing personality. The vocals are beautifully tweaked and the polish they present is extremely adecuate to this type of track. The singer also shows excellent execution and in some parts the performance does really shine. As an anonymous producer from central Ukraine, Cursed Days enhances the mistery surrounding it with an aggresive and impressively tweaked overall music production incorporating some experimental arrangements too, this screams 'post apocalyptic' mood and ambience at its finest, and it does gets better (and sinister) when the artist describes it as 'unleashing your inner murderer in order to cope with vanishing reality. Industrial tribalism covered with techno overdrive', this theme reigns supreme when listening to this track, there a lot of synth efx, volume tricks, probably side chain madness (or at least that's what we've perceived and it's superb), and again, the vocal layer is very melodic and contrasts with the background music in an intriguing sometimes perturbating kind of way. The song delights in a sophisticated post-punk gothic darkwave direction and accomplishes a tight darkness sentiment with its incremental tension along the well produced synth layers, dramatic guitar tones and simple but classic beat. The vocals that are more spoken oriented and sometimes remind of Peter Murphy or some of the more obscure tracks by Clan Of Xymox, do a great job in implementing a solid & continuous sonic pressure that creatively doesn't reach entirely to its destination, effectively leaving the listener with an ambiguos dark mood in a very good way. For a first release, songwriter-producer David Gagne reaches a level of serenity in terms of melodies and overall electronic music production, the sound in general feels natural and very modern, comparable to that of other top quality synthwave acts like The Midnight or Gunship, achieving a smooth, crisp and very present audio quality. The song also mantains a certain level of simplicity in its layers and do get elevated when the vocals kick in, wich are of an extremely well crafted tonal balance and totally unapologetic to their apparent influences wich in moments remind of an old school Howard Jones and some Huey Lewis as well. Definitely a success for a debut. Give Fantazmz a listen, it's just starting and it's definitely promising.

Paul succesfully transforms the song to an uncomplicated toughtful & contemplative piano ballad that sometimes remind inevitably a little of influences like "Somebody' from DM but in a less 'lovesong, needy' direction to a more reflexive state of mind & vibe,
ultimately we can say that is more accurately and probably unintendedly reminiscent of an emotional track by the somewhat underground world music act 'Not Drowning, Waving', but Paul manages to take this to a more personal interpretation with his emotive and sweet vocals, let's not forget that the original song is sung by a female vocalist, and Paul gorgeously reinterprets that similar feel with his own delicate and pleasant style.
In the end this is a wonderful and original cover that can take breaths away. Don't forget that Paul also sings in the amazing modern synthpop song 'Nothing Lasts Forever' by Indelible Scars, featured recently here on Synthpop Your World, don't forget to check out that one too!

It's difficult to label 'Time Slips Away' within a particular genre/style, but (as the artist DELANILA herself describes it) it's definitely a 'cinematic experimental alternative' musical production and we would add: a sensual and elegant musical piece with masterful sonic nuances with an eloquent & delightful layer of wonderfully sung vocals.
We admit we have a special love for female vocals (just listen to our Synth Female Warriors Playlist) and we get breathtaked when an artist clearly dominates what she is doing with her art.

Aside from that the song also talks about a very accepted but controversial contemporary lifestyle that probably anyone can identify themselves living in and the track transmits an almost defying nature against it in its overall tone and vibe that it's really hard not listening to it at least twice or even more times in one sitting, trying to decode 'what's the trick here?', yep it's that misteriously seductive.

This is an artist that combines perfectly a more organic sound with synth/electronic elements, if you enjoy this kind of musical direction (or even if not), DELANILA it's definitely worth your while, we'll be waiting for her next releases
